Ok, long story short, When I went to hook my Geforce 8600 up to the TV via S-video, the screens went black. I had no way to correct this at the time, and forced a shut down. Now, I'm pretty sure the C: drive is corrupted, because whenever it starts up, it asks me to repair it. When I hit repair though, it stays on a black screen indefinitely, and does nothing. The only thing I can do is hook up my K: drive, which works fine, until I hook the C: back up.

tl;dr, My computer won't boot correctly when I have both C: and K: hooked up, no matter what the BIOs/Boot setting is, but the K: runs fine when C: is unhooked.

The plug of the wire connecting monitor and computer. Is there more than one port in the tower for it?
If so, try both and see which one works.

Its not a display problem, but a boot problem.

Also there are 3 when the card is in, and they all work.

First, here's the deal with your corrupted hard drive: You're stuck. I really wish I could say differently, but my dad's going through the same thing right now. His drive died and now he can't get anything off of it, although he's going through a bunch of programs to try and figure it out.

Install Windows on an extra hard drive. Once you get windows up and running on the new drive, try to access your files and back them up.

Then reformat/reinstall.

At least your hard drive might be accessible. Mine crashed. Total data loss.

You can also use spare sectors but you should def. take it to a comp shop if that is the case.

See, heres the issue. No matter how I hook it up [And me and my uncle have been doing it for 4 hours] Nothing loads correctly. When I unhook the bad drive, the old one with windows works.

Don't take it to a shop until you have tried every avenue of home-recovery. Two reasons: One, short of a by-hand sector-by-sector remap of the drive, they cant recover your data in any way you cant. Second: Knowing you, you'll get v& if you give them your drive.

I cant access the drive at all.

Also I'm pretty sure the best buy employees will thank me for the Ariel Rebel vids.

Also I told my mother that, and she thinks I'm too stubborn to give it to pros.

I know Ariel! Also take it to a comp shop not some shitty Best Buy employee. Less likely to get arrested for warez.

Then you're screwed. The "pros" aren't going ot have a magical cure-all to get your data back. Recovering a crashed drive is typically very expensive.

Don't forget to check your cable settings.

Make sure the drive with the fresh OS is marked as the Master from the cable select pins in the back, and make sure the drive in question is set to slave the same way. Then check the BIOS to make sure they boot in the correct order.

Drives have things called jumpers.

Pliers are pointing at it. On the drive or online, you should be able to find a jumper settings diagram for your hard-drive. There are master, slave, and cable select. They determine which one the computer accesses first. Just set K: to master and C: to slave and it should boot fine. Just take the jumper with your fingernails or some pliers (There is a ridge just behind the front made specifically so you can grab it with your fingers) and reposition it how the diagram shows you to.

Ok so, my uncle got it so he can look at the drive safely, but vista can't detect it even is a drive, and when he tries to access it, it gives an I/O error.

We are going to just give it to Best Buy, and use our warranty plan.

Also pyro: The drives are on two different wires due to make and model. K: is an IDE, while the bad C: is a SATA drive. It ignores master slave settings.

And I thought Sashi had nailed it too ;-;
