Weekly Pick-up Games
I'm going to throw out another idea here--but nothing as wild and crazy as my last one.
Most of us probably consider ourselves gamers, and as a result we all probably have a fair number of games. What I want to organize is a weekly event that community members (and non-IRCers) can participate in to play games over the Internet.
It can be anything: From retail games to free online games like those on Yahoo! Just something to encourage some kind of community involvement outside of the forums.
So for those interested, post what day/time of week is best for you.
If you don't like the idea, expect your posts to be pruned.

Most evenings and weekends. I'm in College and work part time so I don't have any definite available times. Also, may I suggest 2142?

I vote Company Of Heroes.
DRL 4v4 would rock.

Halo 1 for PC.
We play it all the time in class at school over the LAN (can also play over internet), when we get 16 people its loads of fun.

Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
I think that not enough people have both XBL (seems to be the most common console of us) and PC (other half of us have great games for this). So it seems split down the middle, and to solve this, we need to list some good games that are for PC but not retail or have a price. ODIN's idea of Yahoo! games is what best fits the bill, but some of us aren't into that. Either way, I'll love to be involved, but can't until I get my new Xbox (not long from now).

It's basically a free Japanese Counter Strike.
Also, Left 4 Dead, Battlefield series, Garrysmod, and ect.
If you are interested, add me on steam as soldierx17

Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
We could do a 16 person monopoly tournament on Pogo...
Have 4 people in each to a table, and the 4 winners move on to a final round.

4:00 to 11:00 most days EST. Gmod, TF2, L4D, Halo CE, Urban Terror and ET:QW are pretty good. Urban Terror is free and has really low req's, so it's a good choice. Also, Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy is an OK game if anyone else has it. Steam is thefatsandrat.

Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
Add tribes to the list. Try to find some more free games or games people don't have to buy, so more people can participate.
