Re: Fallout 3
From what everyone who already pirated it is saying, it's pretty much Oblivion with guns.
I'm sad.

Re: Fallout 3
It's not necessarily bad.
But it really is oblivion with guns. A lot of things SCREAM oblivion at you, though there ARE enough differences to call it a seperate game.

Re: Fallout 3
Van Buren(A cancelled Fo3 by the original developers of the first two) would have been a much better game, I'm just glad we got a Fallout 3 after all.

Re: Fallout 3
I don't think I'm gonna get it. Fallout had that style, subtle black humour and great movie references, while Fallout 3 seems to have converted that into 'wacky' guns and crab men. CRAB MEN! I almost cried when I saw them. Since Oblivion came out I lost my faith in Bethesda.
If they game actually had a construction set it might be better, because people could replace the stuff designed to make it more accessible ot the masses and go back to a game the series deserves. Fallout is not a game to please the masses, sure busness decrees it should but fallout had it's own audience and Fallout 3 is going to get the oblivion crowd.

Re: Fallout 3
I liked Oblivion, but I'm the kind of player that loves to do sidequests, to the point where I got to be the Listener on 4 different characters, arch mage and fighter's guild champion on one character, and grey fox on a couple characters, all without going more than 1/4 through the main storyline on any single character. I got to the point where monsters don't scale up in type anymore. And I never saw anything past walking in the fort or whatever after rescuing Martin.
To be honest, I liked Oblivion, and I'm looking forward to getting Fallout 3 because I'd like to play again but I'd just be doing the same quests over again, and now it's Oblivion with guns on my laptop (which is far better than my old desktop, let me tell you). So I'm getting it, and I don't care if it's not that great. I've played mediocre games for months on end and thoroughly enjoyed it.
