Memo to self: don't buy Toshiba So I reformatted a gifted Toshiba laptop from XP Home to Pro. I installed all the necessary drivers, got everything working, tried to play some sounds, nothing happened. I then proceeded to try other sound drivers. Nothing worked. I talked to some people on IRC, who suggested 3rd party drivers. Nothing worked. I then made a topic on the Toshiba support forum. They told me to check if Mute was on. Thanks, guys. Mute isn't on, no. Your broken ♥♥♥♥ drivers don't recognize that your own laptop has speakers. To clarify: I have a Toshiba Satellite U205-S5002. It is currently running Windows XP Professional Edition, Service Pack 2. The Toshiba support page offers downloads for drivers related to your model. I have tried everything on the page for XP. Nothing works. I am past desperation and into acceptance. I dare you to find me working sound drivers, DRL. |

So. The sound was working before you reformatted it, or this is a completely new computer? |

For the love of GOD. Believe it or not I am capable of checking the ♥♥♥♥ SOUND CONTROL. PROTIP: MUTE ISN'T ON IF THE SYSTEM CAN'T FIND A SPEAKER TO MUTE!

When i had a reinstall in my PC, i had to install the motherboard drivers, together with sound ones. Maybe that will work. |
