problems with Explorer.exe

 problems with Explorer.exeOur old computer is having problems with Explorer.exe
After I sign onto a user, explorer.exe doesn't start. I have to manually go into task manager/command prompt to start it. After that, it runs fine. WTF? old Windows XP btw. |

Re: problems with Explorer.exe If you do need to reinstall, if you have your CD Key all you need is a similar disk. If the disk you had came with the computer, it's OEM xp32 software. If you bought it at a store, then a general xp32 disk.
You can seriously keep all the crap you want on a flash drive? I'd need a USB hard drive to back all the crap that I recently deleted due to a freak misconception about serial numbers and the need to reformat the wrong hdd. Damn I'm stupid. |

Re: problems with Explorer.exe Iv had this happen myself a few months ago.. or a years. A few things can cause it.
What i had to do was take the explorer.exe from another comptuer, put it on my usb drive, and go into safemode on my computer and copy the file into the c:/windows/ folder. Another thing is go into safemode , and run any antivirus you got. |

If it's ♥♥♥♥ up, Windows is ♥♥♥♥ up. explorer is tied into absolutely everything. And plus it doesn't matter what the problem breaks, you should fix it anyway, in case it gets worse. |
