Ok. I just realized this thread is for motherboards spitting out sparks etc etc etc.

My Dell XPS notebook unfortunately died about half an hour ago, not sure why. My friend says it is probably because of a power failure in something or other. All I want to know is what the heck do I do about it? Any ideas?

Oh yeah, and about the ban, just answer my question and I'll be out of your way!

Err, let a professional repair it or buy a new one. :???:
Or ask a friend with knowledge about this stuff to check what the problem is. Might be your motherboard, your power supply, whatever. Can't tell from a distance.

Actually, this is one you definitely want to take to a professional. Laptops are notoriously ♥♥♥♥ hard to take apart. The store I work at actually charges extra for laptops so they won't get as many.

It's not the taking apart that's hard.

It's the putting back together that's the challenge.
