Next-gen Action RPG - Too Human
Shouldn't this stuff be called current-gen? Anyways, I recently got into the demo of "Too Human." It's pretty cool, you fight hordes of robots which look like a mix of Geth from Mass Effect and Dog from Half Life 2. You're a bionic "God" set somewhere in the future with the duty to protect mankind from... stuff. The overall theme is the whole mythological "Asgard" type of sociology and story (I don't know anything about it). The combat system includes you "sliding" to opponents, "juggling" them into the air and beating the living crap out of large groups and elite mobs as fast as possible. It takes a bit to get used to but it's really fun once you get the hang of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rxjmc7DwNMThe demo only lets you use the Champion, but in 2009 you can use the Berserker and Commando (in the demo). Oh and you can change the console's year. I'm psyched about it, what are your thoughts?

Whoa Whoa Whoa, I'm pretty sure gods and technology cannot mix to make a mecha god. Yeah, galaxy, God of war is NOT an RPG.

Look at the combat. Also look at how you play a warriro GOD. This is a God of War rip off. It doesn't matter what genre it is.

Re: Next-gen Action RPG - Too Human
So if I took Cortex Command's engine and added a feature to level up, it wouldn't be a ripoff?

Re: Next-gen Action RPG - Too Human
Except God ow War had a shitty story and was Greek mythology and had a generic combat system. Good characters in it though. Andy Park made the best enemies in the God of War games. On the other hand Too Human has, at least in my experiences, had a quite smooth and intuitive combat system and the camera was, for me, actually perfect and had no problems. It also has loot. Loot is the sex.
Norse Mythology > Greek Mythology.
@Grif - I want my Clones to level up. MAEK IT.
@Moar - You can play as all 5 classes in the demo.

Meh, looks okay. I mean the cinematic is pretty nice. But I probably shouldn't judge a book by its cover eh? Well anyway I'll eventually look into it.

I don't like it. I played through the whole demo disappointed because you can't play the game using just guns.
If you try, the game gets mad at you and forces you to use your hammer.

Re: Next-gen Action RPG - Too Human
I thought it was pretty good, gun controls could use some work...
@Galaxy613: What the hell are you talking about? This isn't even close to being anything like God of War...
@LordTim: You have to use the commando class (all guns). For some reason, Silicon Knights thought it was ok to only allow one class in the demo.

Re: Next-gen Action RPG - Too Human
The Commando class isn't solely guns, he's just not as good at melee. It's just as hard to shoot with him as it is with any other class.
Also the camera blows, controls suck, and it's just generally boring after about 10 minutes.

Re: Next-gen Action RPG - Too Human
Well the game seems pretty fun, and it has been the only game so far whose story interested me after playing on the demo. I really don't care if it seems like a ripoff anyway, fun is fun. I found the combat system to be, interesting; if hard to get used to. Norse myth is also what I really like about it, Norse myth is so, fatalistic and violent, but at the same time elegant and intelligent (Odin was the God of wisdom, war, battle and death and also magic, poetry, prophecy, victory and the hunt). So I hope the game doesn't get flimsy beyond the demo because I already pre-ordered the thing.
