Coders wanted!
Me and a few friends are working on a game idea, it's supposed to be a 3D RPG. We have a really good modeller already, however we are in need of a coder, we haven't started anything yet so at this stage it doesn't matter what coding language you're familiar with as long as it can be used for 3D games. If you are interested in helping us, just send me a PM! Thanks in advance everyone.

Re: Coders wanted!
You want 3D coders, so you ask for help from a bunch of 2D coders.

Re: Coders wanted!
Technically, if you only know how to mod in CC, you're not even going to know how to code a 2D game. CC .inis aren't real code.
Course, I'm sure there are a few people around here with that kind of fancy knowledge.

Yeah, I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Re: Coders wanted!
You want to make a game and you don't have the most improtant member of the team yet? Making games isn't a weekend deal. No matter how low quailty you want to go. Even modifications can take months/years. Finding a programmer won't be easy unless you already have a friend who can/will... programmers will want to be paid because programming is not easy even for the gifted.

If it's 3D why did you ask me to make some sprites? :V

Re: Coders wanted!
You're generally not going to find a talented motiviated coder to work on your project by asking on internet forums without any sort of information. If you've been on the internet for awhile you see a lot of this sort of things "Hey guys, me and my friends have this idea for an awesome RPG, we've got all the ideas, and maybe even the graphics, we just need someone to write our entire game engine for us, thanks " Without a motiviated team with a real drive to create this idea of yours these projects don't generally get very far. This isn't to say you shouldn't try, by all means go ahead, but it's a far better idea if you already know someone with the skills you need to produce these sorts of things.

Re: Coders wanted!
Ok, let me figure this out.
Your making a game with your friends, nice. You need help? What do you have to show us? Why should we sink our time into something we know nothing of?
I am also working on a 3D game, but you need to realize, I can't simply say "I have an idea, everyone team up!" I need to work hard until I have some rough level designs, a decent character model, or something.
I would invest in a company if, say, they had a facility, a prototype, and ect., but not if they have a sheet of paper saying they plan to have those things.
Try to get a foundation on your game first, like a rough draft story or some models, then ask for help. And remember, a fish will bite a baited hook, not an empty one.

You say you and a few friends are working on a g ame idea that is supposed to be a 3D RPG, and you haven't done anything yet. :eyebrow raise:If you're working on a game idea that is a supposition on which you haven't done anything yet, and you ask help to make it, then you're not really doing it right. Other than that, what they said^ (Oh yeah, and don't drop the whole thing only because you haven't anything done and people aren't showing support!) (Also, did you know you'd have to create your OWN coding software for the game? Altough, if you don't want to waste money doing that you could still take a free crappy software on the internet, such as RPG maker (not 3D, though))

Re: Coders wanted!
What? He wouldn't have to create his own coding software at all.
Pretty much all SDKs are totally free.

So like, guys? He didn't ask you for help telling him that he isn't going to get any help. He asked for help. If you're not going to contribute, don't post.
Or else I'll warn you.
That is a warning.

Re: Coders wanted!
I did help. I told him to get something done before he can expect any support, because if he just waits for someone to help he will waste time that could be spent making things for the game.
Well then my post wasn't directed towards you, was it?
I guess not, carry on.
