Graphics Card too low for Game
Ok, so I've run into a little problem. I'm playing a game that's minimum requirement is a 128MB graphics card, and my graphics is 128MB, but when the game starts, it says my card is too low..... Any suggestions?

Re: Graphics Card too low for Game
It probably doesn't have an up-to-date pixel shader. Graphics card memory isn't the only thing important about it.
You might have an intel chipset 128mb and not a real graphics card, also.
You'd have to post your specs for an in-depth pointing out of your problem.

If you run XP: Start -> run -> type in dxdiag -> save all information -> copypaste to www.pastebin.orgIf Vista: window + r -> type in dxdiag -> save all information -> copypaste to www.pastebin.orgThen give us the link.

Re: Graphics Card too low for Game
You don't have a shitty chipset like I suspected, you just have a card that (probably) doesn't support the correct pixel shader.

Re: Graphics Card too low for Game
Nope. You can probably get one that can run Spore for about $100, though.
It's hardware, you can't download it. Sorry, dude.
Edit: I'm probably going a tad crazy about the price...

Re: Graphics Card too low for Game
Unfortunately, given the somewhat confusing array of GPU specs, developers will often cite only the VRAM needed, which is an extremely poor metric for measuring performance.
The good news is that a card that can run Spore should be incredibly cheap. It runs on my desktop's integrated nVidia 6150, which is an extremely low-end integrated card that's three generations old.
Your 9200 is just a generation before that card, so it's probably missing an essential technology like a version of pixel shader models, as others have said.

Edit: I'm probably going a tad crazy about the price... Yep, I just checked Newegg and cards comparable to those in iMacs, which are supported, and the one in my laptop, which runs it quite well, are around $30. But if you want to play future games without upgrading again, you may want to consider going slightly higher. Spore is unusual for its low requirements.

Sorry, so get a new 128MB or a 256?

Re: Graphics Card too low for Game
Seven series should do you well, 7800s are really cheap. Also, protip: In the nVidia series, the *800 is always the power card. The memory doesn't really gauge with gfx, it's the series. Someone just suggest him a card.
