Hello all, I live in Aus, and I'm keen on buying a tablet and getting into drawing on the PC. I'm just not sure what type of tablet to get/ What program to use. I have a budget of about $200, and I prefer freeware. Also, I have a program on this PC called "ArcSoft Photostudio 5.5" (Dads), would this be ok to use? |

If you want a cheaper, but really cool, but not so much for editing, as much as making cool looking art stuff, try ArtRage. http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.html |

What. Photoshop is hardly the best for tablet users. Use Opencanvas or Flash '08. |

I've used both Gimp and Photoshop with a tablet and saw no difference in quality between the two. A good friend of mine insists PS is superior, but I prefer free to some costly intangible quality. |

Either way, once I started using a tablet, I can't go back to drawing with a mouse. One day I hope to get a tablet that has the monitor in it, so it's like drawing on the monitor. |

Thanks heaps guys. I've decided on the 'wacom bamboo fun', A few programs come with it too so they should be alright. Due to my lack of money I'm getting the small size. Bad move? |

I got one of those. I got the medium size. Good choice, they work great. Small would probably be better than medium, the 100 dollars isnt really worth the extra size. None the less, good luck son. |
