Yo. Allright, so I wanna switch over to Firefox, however my dad is still hooked on IE. He wants to know if there is any way to transfer your favorites from IE to FF. If that doesn't work, can you still have both of them on your computer at once? I just need a little help, you can put this under "Computer Help" if ya'll want. |

And you can export/import favourites. |

While I use FF myself, I do also suggest Opera. It's a pretty nice browser, albeit a bit overfilled. I encourage variety. |

Honestly, it doesn't really matter. I like both Firefox and Opera, but if you just want a simple browser that has pretty much everything you need (including a torrent downloader, which I had no idea how to use), get Opera. It's not nearly as "extend-able" as Firefox, but it's dependable and works great. I only have Firefox though, just because of its extensibility. Ad-Block Plus + Noscript + StumbleUpon = Godly browser. |

While on the topic of other browsers.. I've been using firefox loyally for years now, and don't remember much of IE, and I've never used opera. Do the other browsers have memory leaks as bad as firefox? I left FF open overnight with a mere 6 tabs. Sat down today to see that it was using up 500mb of memory. Ouch. |

Have you upgraded to the Firefox 3 beta? In my experience, it's as stable (hasn't crashed yet) as Firefox 2, and the memory management is greatly improved. Some benchmarks put it as the most memory-efficient browser on Windows now. Opera is also pretty good. IE actually leaks memory worse than FF at times, if that's believable. |

Hehe, I leave FF on for weeks at a time. Oh ♥♥♥♥, I have a picture, hang on. EDIT: Also like to note I had several hundred tabs open so that's not normal with FF. |

And that, my friends, is why Firefox is meant to be closed after a while. Honestly, the longest I ever have it open is a couple hours. Never had hueeeg memory leak problems. Also, is it Firefox 3 or Firefox 2? |

FF2. Not tried FF3. Too lazy to reinstall all my addons to the new one. |

What. ITT CherryT has himself backwards. Opera is the bulky browser, and comes with a shitload of stuff you will never use installed. Firefox comes bare, and lets you choose what you want. And my memory on Firefox has never gone above 200k(I've had 72 tabs open at once). The only reason it would is if you went to several hundred webpages very quickly as FF keeps the recent ones stored so your browsing experience will be faster. Studies show people press the back button a lot or something like that etc etc. |
