Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
8GB on desktop, 4GB on laptop. Desktop does pretty much anything I ask except render 1080p videos in AE, laptop struggles a bit when playing high end games on high graphics.

Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
Finally cleaned the clutter off my desktop and got a new background. I suppose I should get a fancy Rainmeter skin or something, but for now I can just enjoy the glowy sun on its own.

Yup. Two 19' 1280x1024 desktops. I think they're the same model, but from different years, since they look a bit different.

I used a vista laptop for awhile, it seemed fine for what I was doing, mainly going online and playing some CC.

Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
I've contently used Vista 32 on my desktop for about 5 or 6 years now and never really had a problem with it (and yes, I've used PCs with XP and 98 before that). Sure it's not perfect but as said above it seems hardly as bad as people make it out to be. I've used XP before on another PC and currently use an old laptop with XP and while I've noticed a few things that I find handier in XP there are also things from Vista I prefer over XP. I think the hardware you're running it on may have a big influence on it.

Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
Vista really hasn't given me any issues. I'll probably upgrade to Windows 7 this summer, but I'm not too concerned about it.

Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
As far as I remember, the biggest issue with Vista was drivers and UAC. If you don't do a whole lot of installing/uninstalling and fiddling with the control panel, UAC won't bother you much. And nowadays, drivers aren't as much of an issue. Win7 is still better though.
