Being scared has identical physiological effects to being sexual aroused. The James-Lange theory is that psychological emotions are formed as a response to physical changes.

Of course modern theorists believe that you need both psychological and physiological effects converging which forms emotions, but still...

Also there is a more sociological thinking that death is something that used to be ubiquitous in our lives, man family members would die young and be laid out in your house for a time and you'd visit them, knowing they're dead. The meat you eat for dinner would be an animal you've known over a period of time and have had to kill yourself. So out of this void we all have a little part of us that is repressed and may sometimes develop a fascination with the morbid.

I'm not really into horror movies myself though.

There's like 400 slendy knock off games on steam greenlight, I love the satisfaction of hitting the no button, even if it doesn't count for anything.

Oh my God, thank you. I still keep up with Marble Hornets for time wasting sake and the last couple entries have been pretty good. It's obviously not a scary thing anymore, and Slenderman seems more psychological to me at least.

Post Re: The Lounge
I previously couldn't understand why people would voluntarily watch horror movies, but then someone explained to me that it was the same thing as riding a crazy rollercoaster (which i'd happily do). It actually made a whole lot of sense to me, though i STILL don't like horror things. Probably has to do with my hyperactive imagination, though oddly enough, all recent scary dreams have had zilch to do with anything scary seen during the day. They all like to play on my phobias, though.

It's quite odd to think about, really. I am typically disturbed by the terrifying thoughts that like to frequent my head, so why is it that i can't stop thinking them? Likewise with dreaming, i don't enjoy being scared, so why does my subconscious think up things that make me wake up with a racing heart? I don't think i'll ever fully understand why. Sometimes i think i might be more screwed up in the head than i'd like to believe.
This is also helped along by my somewhat erratic mood. Most of the time i'm content and/or happy, but there are times (like right now) where i feel much more somber, sometimes it borders a mild depression. But then, suddenly, i snap over to a "naw ♥♥♥♥ all that ♥♥♥♥ i feel awesome" mood. Bipolar? Dunno, self-diagnosis sucks. Not sure if it's severe enough to actually go get a professional opinion though, so i'll just stick with "kind of emotionally unstable".

[/completelyunrelatedramble]

In less downer but still completely unrelated news, thinking about making the baby steps of starting a webcomic. And by that, i mean try to draw a daily (or if that's too strenuous, every other day) comic for an extended period of time. Just gotta poke my swedish bromate about getting that site up, but that is a different matter. Y'all mind if i either dump my efforts here or in a separate thread? I have drawn stickman comics before, i'm just gonna try basing them on my own odd whims rather than dorf fortress.

Lights. A real Canadian goddess.

It's my favourite song by her. I don't think its her best music video but I couldn't find a video without it.

Her being adorable:

You've probably heard her first big hit, Saviour a few years ago.

Good news, everybody.

"DRACO selectively induces apoptosis, or cell suicide, in cells containing any viral dsRNA, rapidly killing infected cells without harming uninfected cells. As a result, DRACO should be effective against virtually all viruses, rapidly terminating a viral infection while minimizing the impact on the patient."

Woot.

I have 176 on mine, but they're mostly content upgrades and not just filters and bloom.
