Hm... I was somewhat concerned with that when I drew it. I think it's a possible position, to have your feet basically "perpendicular" to each other... stand up and try it out. It doesn't seem unusual if you consider she probably just turned a bit to look behind her. It's not impossible, just uncomfortable and weird looking. Also, looking behind in a "is there someone behind me with a knife" sense or in a "I am a drawing in a pose" sense? If the former, bending at the knees allows a better range of vision, and might also allow for less leg-breaky-ness.

And I mean looking behind as in she was initially facing with her back to the viewer, then turned to look behind her, which involved moving her left leg like that. Maybe she isn't done turning? I dunno. But yeah, bending the legs at the knees might help it look more natural. I assume this is some dude in some kind of bone-armor. Honestly, I think you should complete the form before you worry about the coloring.

Re: Art Dump
yes, tis a joint system thingy I made up for cushioned relaxing of the joint so not to wear them too much, filled with gas or liquid. Of course on the inside there are complicated mechanisms that actually control the movement.

Re: Art Dump
so like hydraulics(or pneumatics) but using the liquid(or gas?) as a cushion instead of to apply force.

Re: Art Dump
I knew as soon as I went to paint it it would look like ass. It did. I have no picture of it painted.

Re: Art Dump
Heh. Well, you can sketch from a source pretty well at least.
If you'd like to do something interesting that doesn't involve painting, try drawing something in a pose and position of your own choosing, using sources to determine what it might look like from those different angles. Basically, draw your own image.

Re: Art Dump
So, here's an updated/redrawn version of a previous pic: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/3642/rickalife.jpgI'd say this is infinitely superior. I actually have her face totally figured out now. It's strange, but I've determined she has a bit of an underbite. I guess it explains why her mouth is locked into a constant frown. Edit: added more "volume" to her skirt, so it actually matches what the anatomy is supposed to be underneath.

Re: Art Dump
Looking good Darlos, you've really got a feeling of volume in that pic now especially in the legs. I just recently started drawing again, here's a pic I drew for a friend of mine. Ayera - Full Body Portrait
