Re: Dwarf Fortress
Are graphics sets limited to a certain range of colours?... Or am I stupidly using only colours that have been used on other graphics sets for no reason?

Re: Dwarf Fortress
There is a way of changing what colours are what. At the bottom of Init.ini. I think that you can make those whatever, but can't make more than those.

DO NOT overdo with "Reserved Bins" number... That's why my dwarves didn't put things in bins... Too high number. Now I'm producing in masses.

Reserved bins number is the maximum number of bins that can be put into the pile. The max is set by the number of tiles in the pile. Therefore that cannot be the cause.. Unless you didn't have enough bins for all your stockpiles. But once they got to a stockpile, they'd get filled.. so I have no idea what went wrong there, but that wasn't it.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
well, i reduced the number to 0 and now every bin i create is used in an instant. so it WAS the cause of it... anyway, I'm happy oh yeah I'll update the map in a few (tomorrow, today I'm sleeping )

Re: Dwarf Fortress
I'd love to get into this, but I just find the difficulty wall too steep.
And the illustrated tutorial is rather difficult.
Perhaps someone on IRC could walk me through some simple things at some point?

Re: Dwarf Fortress
um. reserved bins = how many bins dwarves will set aside when finished to maintain a certain amount available for production. they will not be used in stockpiles. reserving bins is pretty dumb, reserving barrels is pretty essential to alcohol production.

An infinite amount of dragons, for instance. And the bars are still small enough that if you put a purring maggot in too, it can't get out either!

http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-2733-straspangstur-wanelaborsSo yeah, my best fort so far. I have a bug. Adamantine and turtle appearing from nowhere, and, well, I'm kinda rich because of that. Kinda. Also, <Zez|DF> Goblin: Why are you smiling? We have a noose around your neck, both of your arms are broken, and we have all of your equipment. <Zez|DF> Adventurer: Not all of my equipment. <Zez|DF> *Starts to spit out arrows* <Zez|DF> Goblins: Augh!
