I'm surprised that there's still someone who does use WinXP. No problem with that, though. Awesome OS and all, but a bit outdated.

It will be when companies stop releasing XP compatible software and MS stops updating it.

Computers running WinXP SP2 "will no longer receive software updates from Windows Update" [i.e., updates released on & after 02 August 2010 so you're now two months behind if SP3 is not installed yet!] until SP3 has been installed. Extended Support for WinXP SP3 will continue through 08 April 2014.

Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
I was actually surprised when I recently learned XP only had 45% of the overall market. That seemed low to me, but, hey, I guess MS is pushing it fairly hard.
The vast majority of businesses are still on XP and will be for the immediate future, though.

I doubt that'll happen for a long while. Probably 5-10 years while. First game that required DX10/11 came two years ago. There are more and more now. Oh and games that require more ram than what XP is built to enable.

I believe the original crysis already required DX10 in order for some of the physics to work. And that was 4 years ago.

Re: Post Your Desktop II (humorous phrase here)
DX10 wasn't necessary for Crysis, it was optional.
