people who dont use icons annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of me

I use icons but I prefer hiding them in a launcher. A large part of the time I'm using my computer I don't need the icons there, as I'm not going to launch anything while already in a game or something. Having them there obstructs the wallpaper and also can grab accidental clicks, which annoys me.

It creates clutter on the desktop and detracts from the feeling the background and theme creates. Plus, you have a start menu, tray icons, mini tray icons, command prompt, and AutoHotkey to launch programs with.

In my mind, the desktop's there to store icons for easy access. Eye candy is a secondary bonus, since it's not like i spend an awful lot of time gawking at it. Of course, that doesn't mean i want it to be a flat out eyesore. :v (i know what you're thinking about saying and you don't need to say it)

I just have my most often used programs pinned to the taskbar which is autohidden on the left side of my screen
and I use either the start menu search or Launchy for the rest

the one thing mac has over windows is you can put the icons wherever you want
but thats also annoying when you want them organized so its a tie

you can actually toggle that on windows
i always snap them to a grid just because i prefer them to be aligned when i actually have ♥♥♥♥ on there, but i havent really in over a year so idk
