Re: Art Dump
Hi! Just a beginning digital artist thingymabob passing through!
I've been a silent member of the CC community, and I didn't know how to involve myself in it until recently. Lately however I started doing some pixel art, I'm still amateur-ish so be as harsh as you want!
Here!

So hi guise, i've made a bunch of doodles since i last posted here. I shall be......... CATEGORIZING the stuff, because why not? :v
a shitload of doodles
Basically an attempt at drawing a dinosaur in a less flat perspective. It... Kind of worked?
not to be confused with the golfbat
i am not entirely sure
B|
Tried sketching a foot and a hand after having practiced. Went reasonably well, all things considered. :v
I drew this for Bear Grylls and tried highlighting him on Facebook. Sadly, he hasn't responded. :v
Another hand, which ended up being rather hamfisted. Then i decided to add MAGIC.
A funky interaction between mouse and pen has permitted the existence of this monstrosity.
go fast yes
we need a weird lizard mask to go with the silly horse mask i mean LOOK AT IT
I found out that Hatfish is a depiction of my muse. Then he started talking to me. :v
A BORED CACTUS, made by request as part of an experiment.
greetingssssssssss good ssssssssssssssir
A thing i doodled while i was 2tired2art. Only notable in that Hatfish looks really ♥♥♥♥ cute in this doodle. c:
Aaaand HATEFISH. I like to try drawing scary stuff occasionally.
Franklin the Turtle as a rockstar, also by request as part of the previously mentioned experiment. (which was 5 free doodle request slots, all slots got taken surprisingly quickly)
[doodling intensifies]
A werewolf riding a bike over a pile of "skulls" on a motorcycle with an explosion in the background. Also he's carrying a bazooka. Guess what? It was a request. Suffice to say, i got lazy with the skulls. :v
An attempted SKULLLLLLLLL. With a cupcake on top.
Some silly cheesy thing i doodled because i had to doodle SOMETHING.
A very quick and ugly insight into how i tend to draw dinosaurs.
a very long and dumb thing about art
BECAUSE WHY NOT
painty things
Tried my grubby little hands at using pressure-sensitive opacity with my tablet and Photoshop, which turned out... Somewhat okay.
Same deal as above, except i was actually inspired, and put a modicum of effort into making it slightly less shitty. I actually like how this turned out. c:
AND THERE WE GO CHAPS. I've spared you some doodles that are entirely insignificant, so consider yourselves lucky. :U Also, if you look really closely, you'll notice that i tried making a signature on two of these things. I need me a fast scribble of a signature so i don't have to meticulously write my entire name every time.
Not so much an actual muse as a reason to justify my arting habits to myself. A combination of my own weirdness and a talking fish-hat (who is prone to violence when not acting as a hat) seems to explain everything that needs explaining. :U (it might also make a little bit more sense when you realize that i use a different avatar on every other site)

Those are pretty cool, actually. You planning to make those as mods?
also in other news i painted a fish
spoiler because SIIIIIIIIIIIZE
I am actually pretty happy with this. I forgot lines on the lower fins, but eh, the eyebrows draw all your attention anyways. :U (also it is appropriately titled "horsing around")

Yes i'm trying to but if i'm being honest its not going to well as i haven't done spriting for a very long time and then of coruse i wasn't really that good at it, so if you've got nothing to do your welcome to jump in and sprite it because the conventionally the bulk of the script has already been written by someone else.
I am actually getting super jealous of your developing art skills, Shook. Everything you make has so much character and even your technical side is improving pretty steadily.
I see what you mean, those particular fins are ♥♥♥♥ annoying to try to give proper perspective. Thanks very much! c:

Oh man, all these feels. :I But bro, i am not somebody to be jealous of, i learn artings ridiculously slowly because of my dumb and stubborn approach of refusing to take references and what have you. I am also pretty much useless outside of drawing fish, dinosaurs and cartoony faces. Realism is a concept that eludes me time and time again, although fortunately i actually prefer drawing in a cartoony style over realism. Still though, it wouldn't hurt to be ABLE to draw in a realistic manner, as opposed to the clay-like mutant figures that tend to emerge when i try to do that.
But, far be it from me to dismiss compliments.

You have no idea how glad i am to hear that. <3 Character and expression are the alpha and omega for me when it comes to art, and it is super nice to know that i am somewhat succeeding at it. Technicalities are of course nice as well, but a technically perfect drawing without character and/or expression probably isn't going to appeal to me all that much. As an example of one of my favourite art styles on deviantART, there's this thing by IsisMasshiro. Incredibly expressive overall, and an impressive technical skill to top it off. I WISH i could get anywhere near that level of ART POWER, but alas, i must power on with what i have at the moment. I remain confident, however, that if i just keep going and have fun, improvement will come all by itself. :v
and that was much more CHOO CHOO FEEL TRAIN than i had originally planned but oh well
being tired does that to me
:v

Shook, you're very deserving of the acclaim you get. The characters you can perfectly convey their expressions and you've got a good sense of humor to boot. Keep it up!
I drew James Randi
(the right eyebrow shadow pisses me off so much)

I really like that train one, the colors really pop. I love the reflections on the rails.
Moth scales!
I thought this was totally crazy when I figured out I could get this close.
