Re: Art Dump
Ooo, loving the level of detail you put into those painting drawing things! Have to agree with p3l though, the pose is a bit awkward, somehow. As is traditional for me, i can't put my finger on WHY it is so, unfortunately. >.> Also, while we're on the topic of displaying arty progress, allow me to jump in with the minimal progress i've made! See, recently i doodled this little chap. And then i was like hey, IMMA TRY DIGI-PAINTIN DAT ♥♥♥♥ Disregarding the obvious lack of refinement (it was a pretty quick thing, relatively speaking), i like how this guy ended up looking. I might finally have found a way for me to do digital painty stuff (if this can be called painting) that actually works somewhat! also more things that i haven't shown you guys here oh yeah also this

If its okay with you folks, I'm just going to post links from now on, since i've been using a huge res for most of my stuff. http://i.imgur.com/tNGx7MH.jpgwip for now, probably gonna see about making the wing more fleshy and loose instead of being a rigid spoke of bone basically.

I haven't posted anything here for a long time due to lack of internet connection, good to see that it's still active around here though. Here's a few recent things. Raiders Longbowmen

Re: Art Dump
Good to see you back, Madmax. AS always, your Art is great! But, what is that under the Barrel of the CHinese Assault Rifle? A Hand Grip?

It's a lame underslung grenade launcher, kinda threw it on there as an afterthought. Also, thanks.

Re: Art Dump
I think I've probably said it before, but your work has this really tidy sharpness that's nicely visible on these.

Re: Art Dump
That's great to hear. I usually avoid soft edged brushes, even if I'm doing something that requires soft undefined edges such as clouds or foliage, IMO it looks nicer to manually blend rather than let the tools do it for you.
Thanks again guys. I really appreciate the good feedback I get here.

Re: Art Dump
And we appreciate the great art that you shower us with. <3 If i am to say something constructive, it'd be that the longbowman's legs seem a bit funky, somehow. A bit thin for a man at war, perhaps? Also, the rightmost leg blends in with the background, don't know if that's intentional.

Re: Art Dump
I too noticed the left leg blending into the BG later after finishing that one. As for the thin legs, I was trying to imitate the sort of tight-fitting trousers I see in medieval settings all the time though they are definitely too thin even for tight pants, legs have thickness, I gotta remember. This was the general attire I was aiming for

Re: Art Dump
Because our Design Drawing teacher was sick we missed a class. Just so we had something to do we were told we could draw a spaceship or whatever if we wanted for extra credits. Since last friday was the last day to hand in drawing assignments I decided to draw a spaceship the day before: It's horribly crooked and bent, mostly because we're not allowed to draw with rulers or pencils, but instead have to use fineliner and our own hands and eyes. Worth noting is that I had gotten glue into my eye the day before and that my hands have been shaking every day for as long as I can remember. Guess who inspired me....
