Re: Art Dump
That's actually really flattering, thank you! I'm 16 and have taken 2 years of highschool photography classes and I allegedly sold one print at an art show (never got any money for it), but obviously not professional.

Re: Art Dump
What sort of equipment do you use? I've recently acquired a entry level dslr (mostly for shits and giggles), and even that takes some pretty good pictures. I think it's the dog's bollocks, it's amazing what you can get for 360 dollars. ^potentially nsfw

Re: Art Dump
I use a Nikon D90, with the standard lens too, but for macro photos I add a set of extension tubes(The 36 and 12 mm ones I believe).

Re: Art Dump
There aren't many minor details because it's for my steam profile pic, meaning this here is 4x size the actual image I'll use is 25% and then that version will have a 50% and 25% version for various things so any unnecessary detail will just make it muddy and blurry. And also the quality of the image is completely boned (jpeg'd up the ass) when uploaded to the steam server so that also makes adding detail even more pointless.

Making anything geometric in Flash is basically tricking the program into doing what you want.

Re: Art Dump
It'd be easier if we know what you're making. :p Would guess it's a boulder though?

Re: Art Dump
Its pillowshaded. Try to put the lightsource at somewhere like the top right or top left. It shows 3d much better. You were following the kiwinuptuo tutorial right? I'd try looking at something that is less stylized for right now so you can draw things not in his style. Read through this: http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299

Re: Art Dump
I tried to put it at the top left, apparently not well enough though.
