That inspired by Donnie Darko?

Yeah, it's my attempt at recreating the calendar from the movie. I would have just printed it but ran out of ink.

Damn beautiful as always max. How do you pick your colours? I've always worked with game palettes so the few times I've tried to colour things myself it's ended up terrible.

Thank you Contrary. Color picking for me depends on the scenario, there are a few color-effecting factors such as time of day, temperature, distance, etc. I don't know a lot about color theory, most of my color choices are either based on what I think/recall what the object in question looks like in reality, or just guesswork using factors such as lightsource, bounced light, temperature, and distance in mind.

At any rate you can always use reference for getting the right colors for difficult things you don't usually draw.

Madmax, your art style looks a lot like the old point and click games I used to play nearly a decade ago.

The last one especially so.

Thanks fellas.

@Caekdemon: I used to love the artwork of some point and clicks like the Monkey Island series, so that is a great compliment to hear.

Looks like Arne/Promstars almost. Cool! But the eye looks like it is floating above the grey body.
