OKAY, let's stop fighting, shall we?
Miggles, this is a discussion forum. The point it is to discuss things, including but not limited to one's opinions. If you start a topic about Homestuck, people are going to discuss Homestuck, even if they don't like it. If you didn't want that, you would have called your thread "Praising Homestuck thread", but that would have been stupid, so you didn't.

On the other hand, Nonsequitorian, you're coming off as a bit rude, intentionally or not. You jumped into the thread and said (then restated several times) that this comic is boring, and it's not worth reading. Immediately afterwards, you reappeared and, evidently interested in something related to the comic, asked a question about it. It comes across as pretty hypocritical of you, to the point that it seems almost mocking. To fans of Homestuck, it's a bit like if somebody walked in in the middle of a discussion about Othello, said "this play is lame, it's completely uninteresting," became silent for several minutes, then said "so, wait, why is there a picture of a black dude crying on the front cover?" Yes, it's a legitimate question, pertaining to the plot of the play, but the way and context in which it was presented make it seem silly. I'm sure this wasn't your intention, but that's what it looks like.

Ragdollmaster, other than being a little vitriolic, your post raised a good point. Then you concluded it with an image macro. That's not helping anybody. Bad Ragdollmaster.

And, with that, allow me to set down some rules for this thread:
  • If you don't like Homestuck, keep in mind that there are many people who do, and don't be rude to them.
  • If you do like Homestuck, keep in mind that there are many people who don't, and don't be rude to them.
  • If this thread starts getting out of hand again, spankings will be administered.

I don't remember "Time Travellers must hook up" being a rule
Although it would have made The Master in Doctor Who more interesting

Post Re: [Homestuck thread] "Jack kills EVERYONE: The movie"
Hey there, I've been reading Homestuck for a long time, and I find the Trolls... interesting. Here's a lowdown on the names...
Karkat Vantas: Karkata is a Hindu astrological sign which is the equivalent of Cancer, which is called Karkinos by the greeks. And apparently Vantas is a subcutaneous implant for the treatment of prostate cancer.
Gamzee Makara: Makara is the equivalent of Capricorn in Hindu astrology, while Gamzee is from an MSPA forumite who won his naming contest (Gammy) while possibly also coming from the Turkish word for 'coquettish look' or dimple (Gamze).
Tavros Nitram: Tavros meant Bull in greek, and is also similar to the Doctor Who villain Davros, who is wheelchair-bound. Nitram is Martin written backward, and there's supposedly an Operation Taurus which is a planned prosecution against Martin McGuiness, a Sinn Fein politician. Mary Martin played Peter Pan in a 1954 musical.
Sollux Captor: Not only it's a scrambled form of Pollux and Castor, the Gemini Twins, but Sol + Lux (sunlight). Apparently, the stars Pollux and Castor in the constellation is a red giant and a bluish white star, respectively. They're also the name of two characters in Face/Off, a Nick Cage film.
Equius Zahhak: Equus is latin for horse, as well the title of a play in which a boy became sexually interested with horses. Apparently the boy in the play's name is Alan Strang, and Equius is fond of saying that he's strong. Zahhak is a figure in Iranian myth who is smart and strong, but got manipulated into evil. Another name for Zahhak is Bevar-Asp, meaning 'the one who owned ten thousand horses'. The letter X in spanish is 'equis', and Equius tend to switch that with %, as well as 'loo' or 'ool' which he replaces with 100 and 001 respectively.
Eridan Ampora: an Amphora is a greek jug used to store wine and other liquid, while Eridanos is a river poured by Aquarius in greek myth. It is also said that it's one of the rivers in Hades. It's also a constellation.
Aradia Megido: Megiddo is a place in Israel, as well as the origin of the word Armageddon (Har Megiddo), and is referenced as the place of the final battle. It appears that there was a Project Megiddo done by the FBI. Meanwhile, Aradia is a fictional deity who is thought of to be real by Wiccans.
Nepeta Leijon: Nepeta is the genus of the plant catnip, while Leijon is an old spelling of lion in Swedish. It appears that there was an Operation Leo enacted by the German Red Army Faction back in 1976 to kidnap the Swedish then-minister of immigration, Anna-Greta Leijon.
Kanaya Maryam: Kanya is a hindu astrological sign equivalent to Virgo, while Maryam is an arabic equivalent to the name 'Mary'. She's got a virgin lusus.
Terezi Pyrope: Terezi is apparently Azerbaijani for Libra, and Pyrope is a red mineral, whose name also meant 'fire eyes'. Terezi may be connected to the blind prophet Tiresias in greek myth.
Vriska Serket: Serket is an egyptian goddess of scorpions, while Vriska is short for Vrishchika, hindu name for Scorpio, or Kalpavriksha, which is a wish-granting tree below the fourth chakra in Zentra Yoga which fulfills both positive and negative wishes. In norse myth, Scorpio represents the goddess Hel, which is portrayed as a woman with her right half of the body alive, and the left part dead.
Feferi Peixes: Metasepia Pfefferi is a poisonous cuttlefish, while Peixes is portugese for 'fishes'.

How the ♥♥♥♥ did Andrew know all of this clever naming ♥♥♥♥

Also, isn't it spelled Serqet? (Not Vriska's name, the Egyptian god)

He didn't, back then Homestuck was still in the CYOA format and all the names were submitted by readers, though he might have picked the winner based on this sort of stuff
I speak regularly to the guy who named Jack Noir
