 Re: Art Dump
dat jellyfish it is SO HAPPY IT MAKES ME HAPPY TOO Also holy ♥♥♥♥ that's a nice photo of a bee. How'd you even get so close without scaring off the bee? @Urch: I concur with Miggles, your stuff is also Rad with a capital R! That "mess" looks more like an LSD dimension trip, and the soldier just looks really good. Great job(s)! c: and now for what you've been dreading me trying serious pencil art It turned out better than i expected, honestly. I can see flaws myself, but hey, it's the very first time i'm drawing seriously with a pencil!

 Re: Art Dump
Shook, I believe you can do better than that.
Also, I will hate myself exactly as much as I want to and no amount of words will change that. It's nice that you like my stuff, though.

 Re: Art Dump
Not much, because y'see, for the last 4 years (???) i have been arting with a mouse using my left hand. I do, however, use pencils with my right hand, which makes for an awkward shift between digital and paper (and also the standing fact that i'm really not that good an artist).

 Re: Art Dump
Shook, your dragon seems to be suffering from Multiple Perspective Syndrome, I have trouble telling whether he is in direct profile or facing slightly toward the viewers. I think it is mainly due to the nostrils, both are pointing directly forward where usually dragons have them set far to the side of the head like this one Anyway, here's a guy hitting something with a hammer.

 Re: Art Dump
If that's the main concern then count me happy. :U But yes, good point. That largely boils down to the fact that i have no idea of how to draw proper draconic nostrils (if those are even a thing), but of course i also need to practice my perspective. It's supposed to be angled slightly towards the viewer, but i can see that it might not be totally clear.
Also, that's one rad smithdude! I must, as a general note to your art, mention that i love how you make every person unique in appearance, because it's so easy to fall into the "only six faces" trap (i know i probably do). You manage to avert that in a glorious manner. If i really have to nitpick, i'd say that the arm holding the hammer seems bent in a somewhat odd manner, as if the bone itself is crooked. The rest is S+ tier quality, your pencil skills are enviable!

 Re: Art Dump
Madmax, i always admired your drawing Skills (and bow-making Skills) and im wondering, how can you draw that good? Do you use a simple Pencil? And how much time do you need for one of your usual drawings?

 Re: Art Dump
Wow, thanks guys, the kind words mean a lot to me. @Shook, thanks for the feedback and critique. The right forearm does seem a bit strange, I was trying to emphasize the muscles in that area. @Notsoscary It's hard to say how I improve and continue to draw, I usually just say "practice practice practice", I think this quote has a lot of truth to it: I rarely use a pencil, pen is more to my liking, gives good solid lines, of course you can't erase so you have to draw very light under-sketches. My recent stuff I've been posting is digital with a tablet, using Mypaint with downloaded brushes, I think it imitates a pen drawing nicely. As for time, the last 2 were a couple hours each, hatching takes up most of the time. Just finished this, inspired by Mount & Blade ~3 hours

 Re: Art Dump
Oh Non, how i know that feel! My brain still refuses to believe the short amount of time that some artists spend to make ridiculously good art, but i'm going to be cheeky and say that 3 hours actually isn't unbelievable (with all due respect to madmax, i couldn't draw anything that good even if i tried for a whole day). Remember, drawings are 2D, while your awesome wooden crafts are 3D, and thus take much more work to get to a similar level of quality. Also, people have inherently different working paces, and it's not a bad thing to not be blazing fast. Also also, the quote madmax posted is both awesome and relevant. I'm possibly the slowest learner of art ever, i began posting work on deviantArt 4 years ago, and was probably trying to sprite a year before that. The most significant change in my arty stuff was back when i stopped pillow shading, approximately 9 months after my first sprite ever (which was godawful). Since that point, there hasn't been any significant leaps, mostly just SLOW progress (which i suppose is good?). But you know what? I'm totally cool with that, and i don't even know where i'm going with this. I think what i'm trying to say is "keep at it, you'll get EVEN BETTER". That thing that many artists say about it not being about talent but hard work? They're totally right. If you can hold your attention to a drawing for just ONE hour, you can make huge progress in no time flat. Quick sketches are actually better for learning than grand artworks, at least i think so. also tracing isn't notably faster than drawingalso i couldn't sleep last night so i drew an angry fish This is more a style i really enjoy drawing in, as opposed to the semi-realistic dragon thing i drew earlier. I did enjoy that, of course, but this also amused me. Plus, it only took 20 minutes, so that's nice.

 Re: Art Dump
Doin' KAG arts, for the background scenery. A Dune with a temple entrance, towers and a statue face. A WIP castle/fortified town for the closest layer. Any tips 'n' CC would be nice since this is the first time I'm undertaking a sprite this large, 1024 x 512px full size.

Perhaps be a bit harder on the contrast.
Everything looks too 'creamy' at the moment, reminds me of the French Vanilla coffee I order every once in a while. Very nice otherwise.
