Re: Art Dump
Found a pretty set of pictures. Thought I'd share them with everyone. They're eyes from this guy's art. Looks a lot better as a set on a white background, but eh. They're just so colorful and beautiful.

For a second I thought her eye had exploded outward or something, so glad it's just a flower.

Re: Art Dump
How do people draw things like this? Like, there is just so much...Edit: A description of the piece: "Divers Preparing for Work. Front cover illustration of the February 6, 1873 The Illustrated London News. While not labelled explicitly, the Wreck of the Northfleet, a major naval disaster, occurred on the 22nd of January, and an article in a previous issue mentions divers being sent to recover the bodies and other remains. It would presumably have been obvious what they were doing to readers of the time."

Re: Art Dump
that might not've been drawn, there's a chance it's linocut or something, which would make it a print. Still be hard as hell though.

Re: Art Dump
If you're asking how it's done, etching/engraving is the process of printmaking by cutting out relief lines in a piece of wood or metal which will hold ink and be pressed onto paper. Any magazines, newspapers, or catalogues of the 19th/20th centuries usually have a lot of etching artwork. It's hard not to admire the linework and hatching of master printmakers. You can buy a scratchboard at an art store and try it out for yourself.
