That looks like you made the contrast a bit more noticeable, but I think he means separating the right arm (and other limbs I guess, but the right arm bothers me the most) from the torso. Maybe create a shadow on the sword so it doesn't look flat with the body? I... Don't really know though :oops:

I would make the blade beefier, and make his far arm more heavily shadowed. With the way it is now his foreground arm looks almost like it's on the same plane as the bg one.

Man I can't use tiny size brushes because my lines end up becoming sketchy and disconnected. Do you start huge then resize the image down or something?

Yeah, large canvas, although what I used here is probably still considered relatively small. The head took up about 1400 pixels squared at 100%, I used brushsize between 5 and 10 I think. It's not like I do all the lines perfectly the first time either ofc. Mostly I try and get it right in as few pieces as possible to keep as much of the line dynamic as possible, but even then I usually redo and erase a lot. What kind of brush settings do you use?
