Glad i'm not the only one who gets caught unawares by that blasted mirroring thing. :U
That said though, that's quite a snazzy model there, maart3n!

Also madmax i totally agree with what alpha is saying, to my untrained eyes your art looks like goddamn pencil wizardry in its most glorious form. So that makes you a pencil wizard in my head, which is a pretty rad title. (and in case you're in doubt, this is a compliment)

@bombzero: I quite like those scribbles, actually. Might just be me being odd, but i have a soft spot for that sketchy kind of look. That, and you've managed to nail a drawing style that strikes me as nice (which i still have to actually concretely define for myself, but i s'pose pigeonholing is a bad thing). I don't really have anything insightful to add that hasn't been said already, so consider this to be a free ego boost. :-o

also i just HAD to draw something so here's a 5-minute beaver rodent thingy

Fun fact: the different "Styles" I use are just created by how lazy or proactive I am feeling.
The "complete" process goes a little like this.
1. Rough construction.
2. Smoother construction.
3. Rough sketch.
4. Smoother sketch.
5. Yet smoother sketch.
6. Block coloring.
7. Detail coloring.
8. Shading.
8a. Light gradient shading.
8b. Light shadow shading.
8c. Heavier shadow shading.
8d. Light highlights.
8e. Heavier highlights.
♥♥♥♥. Screw this, I'm lazy, cel shading. (Insert prior to 8a if lazy)
9. Redo linework.

Earlier dragon is a product of 3,6,7,♥♥♥♥.

Personally I also like the 3,6,7,♥♥♥♥ look myself, but it often isn't to the taste of people who underwent traditional art schooling or take pride in small details and precision or are just really, really highly practiced and talented(looking at you madmax).

On the contrary, some of favorite artists are sketch artists who usually create very loose, basic sketches, I really don't care so much for a whole lot of tedious polish and refinement in my art, I much prefer the spontaneous energetic flow of the sketch, which is often lost in the finished piece, however, such sketches usually have very crisp and controlled lines.

Also thanks guys.

I realised I haven't touched a pencil in a while because I've been fiddling digitally so here's something

Getting there, Matty. Looks like your values got flattened out when you scanned it. Consider darkening up some of the shadowed areas like you did in the eyes and eyebrows, especially occluded shadow areas where no light would reach. Better contrast = more depth.

@Non, perhaps you're just not accustomed to it, I know when I finally got my tablet it felt really unnatural to not look at the drawing surface. In my experience it's not a whole lot like drawing with a pencil aside from the way you hold the stylus, I mean, there are things I cannot do with a pencil that I could do fairly easily with a tablet, and vice versa.

Sexy beyond belief man...
Your ability to achieve good looking shading/lighting using different line densities/directions is amazing. I've tried it a few times myself so far but haven't been able to make anything as good looking. :P
Good focus of detail too.

@matty: DEM MANBROWS. Lovely drawing too, though he could do with a smidge of shadow in his armpits, as madmax mentioned. Other than that... Great!

also finally got off my ass and made another sprite for my gaem

If you think it looks like a delicious piece of candy now, you should've seen it before i removed a significant part of the green stripes. :U

Looks pretty neat, Matty. Reminds me of a Kel-Tec PMR 30 because of how thin the slide is. Not sure what kind of advantage having the rear sight where it is would have. Interesting slide lock mechanism.
