And for the record, I did not use the "Render > Lens Flare" filter. abculatter_2 wrote: Teach me how, please. Honestly, the majority of what I did for the nebulae is as you can tell, a cloud effect. I rendered the whole screen with several layers of clouds and then erased away what I didn't want, I then took the clouds and put them as their own alpha mask which got rid of the blackness leaving only the white parts of the clouds. I then had fun with colors and layer blend modes.

Looks like a little bit of blur near the edges too. You should have given it a bit of texture on the stars if they're going to be that close. Lighter/darker fluctuations.

Add crazy huge engine glow, the awesome shall be magnified TENFOLD*! And, if you can, animated turrets. That shall further increase the awesome.
*Actual multiplier subject to color, intensity, and awesomeness of the glow itself.
