Mcdonalds only has more heart-attacks because more people eat at mcdonalds than checkers/rallys Lets see you eat at checkers/rallys 2 times a day for a month and live. More grease, and more unhealthy foods. Fries covered in cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream, and chili... 2-3 pounds.....

They are the king of chilli-dogs and jalapeno.... in that you are correct, but... steak n' shake sucks... thats neither fast-food nor good. the only good thing they have is milk-shakes.... and Unlike john Travolta, I do NOT like a $5 shake.... Ever... Notice the trend... Eggs in a basket... Rallys/checkers, Pigeon and rabit, instant ramen and curry... CHEAP FOOD THAT IS DELICIOUS... Not expensive fake-fast-food that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole for free. Where have you gone to Steak n' Shake? We're both in Ohio: Last weekend, I bought a shake there and it was $2.99

Manticore wrote: fish is wonderful.(i can understand how people dont like it tho) for the above bagel sandy try to get locks(thinly sliced smoked salmon) instead of just a hunk. Lox. Heard the word but never read it, right? Also, Miles- Tikka Masala is British, not Indian. Try food from Kerala; fish curry with tamarind sort of thing. I've never eaten much in the way of fast food, but all I know is that Wendy's onion rings = win. Also, basic recipe for the trifle- 1 Pound Cake, preferably Sara Lee or some other bland, sugary, fatty kind; Jam of some kind A lot of berries Whipped cream Custard (Byrd's [spelling?] is good, other is acceptable) Ammaretti (spelling?) almond cookies Lady's Fingers (type of dry, finger-shaped [I guess] cookies, covered in sugar; very light) Booze (optional; sherry, cordials, etc.) Take 1 pound cake. Slice into standard slices (half-inch thick) Slice each slice into 4-8 little pieces. Make tiny jam sandwiches out of them. Take a large bowl and arrange the lady's fingers vertically around the edge of the bowl. Dump in the sandwich things. Crumble the Ammaretti's on top of the sandwich layer. Add 1 layer of fruit on top of that. Pour booze onto stuff. Allow to sit for a small amount of time. Add custard layer. Add whipped cream layer. Garnish with fruit. Allow to sit in fridge for ~24 hours for optimum excellence.

It's not a cake so much as a pudding. It's not pudding so much as it is awesome. And mega-easy to make. And cheap. And, if you do it right, in a trifle dish like it can be quite visually impressive. Just don't do it with chocolate (ugh) or with any fruits that raspberries, strawberries, or something similar. My family does it as a Christmas dessert.

Heh, I've heard of the recipe on the first page, I used to eat it when I was younger. Whatever, the forums is kind of dead right now, I'll make one. EDIT: Wow, that was good. I used an English muffin instead, and it tasted great!
