Ok, so, I'll try to explain this. It's still kind of a haze.
So, there was this russian guy.
Who was a hacker.
And he... uh... hacked things. I think.
It may have been our things.
I'm not sure, the terrifying flashbacks have returned.

Last year's april fools was going to be the forum software got shut down for maintenance, but Dauss spilled grape Fanta on the server, and fried our backups, deleting all the topics and forums. That didn't go over so well, so TLB put it all back, or tried to. While the joke had been going on, a hacker from Russia managed to grab his account and started defacing the forum and posting messages in Russian about how he was going to remake DRL to better match the Russian fan forums (which in his opinion were much better). Luckily, the mod team was able to grab his IP from the posting logs (he didn't think to remove ALL the mods from power, just the admins and a few of the globals) and we called the police on him, who backtraced his IP to an apartment in Russia, where he was arrested.

It was awful. There were some really bad things being said and done.

It's important to note they did this using a GUI coded in Visual Basic.
