Post Re: The Lounge
When it comes to video games....
I generally like to rate normal games based on the gameplay, visuals (not graphic quality), atmosphere, and originality. It varies when it comes to story.
Many other times I can get hooked in with music. see: every old JRPG.
Artistic value can also have the same effect.
And frankly I won't give a ♥♥♥♥ about how bad the graphics or story are if another aspect completely overshadows it.
Like, some games are meant to have no story, but great gameplay and art design like TF2.
Other games are completely story dependent, and I'll play it based on that, see Tales of Symphonia. (also had amazing music and gameplay, just overshadowed)

So the TL;DR is, if something is good enough in it, and it really lures me in with it, I'll like it. But I'm aware of other parts of the game.

I found the whole romantical aspect to be ridiculous. There was no indication that my shepherd was getting feelings for Kaiden or whatever his name was (Garrus was hotter, she had terrible taste), and then suddenly they're about to kiss.

This happened to me too, but with Ashley. I thought I was the only one.

Now that I'm finally playing through ME2, meeting her is going to be super awkward.

After I played that game for 4 hours, I felt like I was obligated to slaughter the entire god damned cast.

There goes Squenix, ruining things I love. Though I liked the gameplay a lot, shooting things was damn fun, the story was forgettable and I cared little for whoever the characters were.

I've heard terrible things, and never intend to touch it. Played bits of the first three games, and Gun Hazard wasn't too bad, though.

Looks like Sony and MS might be gearing up to block used games from being played.
Whelp, guess I won't be getting the boxstation 2013. I'll wait until it's actually announced to denounce MS and Sony, just in case it's an untrue rumor.
