Re: The Lounge
How DARE people not have my taste in music/not know a pop icon that was popular years before they were born! The very nerve!

Re: The Lounge
it's like going to school.
you have to know the basics and have an idea of what everyone else knows before you can make an intelligent decision for yourself.
key word there: intelligent.
that being said, I also think that the majority of kids (those born after 1992) are sheep. just saying.
EDIT: what america needs is another good draft war, one to put the spirit back into values.

Re: The Lounge
I'm pretty sure you don't need a course in music made before your time to be intelligent. As for the whole sheep thing: people are people, they tend to be social and like things other people around them like. Accepted psychological theory states that what the majority of a given group thinks will rub off onto any member that thinks slightly differently from the group, producing the effect of making members of the group who do not have feelings on a matter to develop feelings similar to those of the rest of the group. Belonging to a group has become an extremely desirable trait (perhaps to the point of necessity for mental stability) in recent years in elementary and high schools, so it's only natural that children find the desire to fit in by following any trend that comes along extremely compelling, whether you consider the trends stupid or not.

Re: The Lounge
many things to say.... first, you guys got the ME3 memo weeks late. second, its okay for kids to not know ♥♥♥♥ about previous generation music. ones that explore dadrock are okay, but its even better when they explore artistic music both old and new. third, I really really love Animal Collective. Better than sex. fourth, getting into existentialism, specifically Nietzsche.
I really thought I loved anco when I listened to Feels and Merryweather Post Pavilion, but Sung Tongs blew my mind.

Re: The Lounge
ME... finally I know wth yall are talking about.
alright, so group think isn't such a bad thing, and I really shouldn't dislike the younger generation simply because of their survival insticts but christ I wish they would loosen up a bit and stop being so defensive. I would like, for once, to play a video game online and not have the words "newb" "pwnd" "♥♥♥♥♥♥" etc. spewed at every turn by players who sound like they could pick their teeth with their ballsack. just once. I'm pretty sure I could forgive the blonde chick for not knowing how much time it would take a car going 80mph to travel 80 miles if I could just have that.
sadly however, I doubt this will happen, but I will hold onto hope that maybe we'll stop insulting each other long enough to take a deep breath and smile.

Re: The Lounge
I have not played a FPS in around a decade. I'll play third person, but not FPS.
Have they changed much?

Pretty much every shooter has gotten less and less interesting, in my opinion.

Re: The Lounge
I've played plenty of good FPS games of this generation. I think the genre is generally looked upon as bland because of CALL OF DOOTIE 74 by people who've never really played these games.

Re: The Lounge
There are loads of good new shooters out there, but nothing that really beats system shock 2 or deus ex for that matter. Bf3 has awesome multiplayer combat though.
