Make a down stair and make an up stair directly under it.

Or up/down stair.

To build a construction ( wall, floor, stair, ramp... ) it is 'b → C → [Key]'.

The mostly predominant issue is the learning curve, which is about as steep as it gets when considering a video game.

You got that right.

The wiki didn't really help me much because the only problem I had was with knowing what symbol was what and what keys do what. Both just needed practice. The wiki is good for knowing how buildings work though.

Press k and scroll around, or go to the creatures page, and job page so you can differentiate the different civ's soldiers.

Foa, I already knew that, but thanks anyways. Also, could you be a bit more specific about the blue screen, deathbal?

If it was a singular instance, ignore it. Windows BSODs all the time. No reason for worry.

I still can't quite figure out what I'm doing; the dwarves just stop doing things after a while or my woodcutter WON'T CUT WOOD, or any number of things.
Adventurer mode is SO FUN though.
I wish you had the option to throw enemies you were wrestling; grab a live child and shoulder-throw them at a charging guard... :D
