Anybody saying 'LOL ID INVEST IT' is lying. You would go out and buy the nicest car possible and the nicest house possible and a load of other stuff.

Actually, any responsible financial adviser (you have to imagine that they would flock after lotto winners just like layers after ambulances) would probably tell you to invest it. Plus, you have to realize that you don't always get the full winnings all at once. Also, sentences including the words, "anybody" or "everybody" and a definitive statement not backed up by research rarely hold up to scrutiny.

I had a dream today!
A dream to own a fully armed, James Bond villain-esque space station (nukes, space lasers, the whole 9 yards), fully equipped with almost ever luxury imaginable, but not live there.
Just go there for holidays and parties and such.

Get 2. One for living in and one for partying.
The partying one has more robot-maids for those really wild parties.

@3 Solid Point made and incorporated into the master plan.
Also: I shall need a battle-cruiser, for security.

Send some to charities.
Spend some on either getting a new house our getting the one we have done up.
New car.
New TV.
New Computer. (HELLYESTHISONEISCRAP!)
Maybe a new laptop.
And we'd keep anything left over. Put it in the bank or something. What a dull plan. Why would you tell us that? Also, every line is double-paragraphed. Although I do that way too much also. EDIT: not to be too harsh.

Re: What would you do if you won the lottery?
if i won the lottery. a big lottery, like multi-million (which even the canadian dollar is worth more now so its not much) buy a house> buy a car, not even a classic or expencive one... i'd get some 1970's land-barge thing. you know, low to the ground, long, flat, wide, less than 15 miles per gallon. convert it to also be electric, so i can switch back and forth. then i'd just live care-free. if i want a movie, i'd go, i'd pay for my friends, i'd get large drinks and popcorn, for everyone... and just watch the movie, i'd be paying for gas money to get to the place... i'd also wear a nice suit every day, be it like... one of those funky chinese things that they made the neck bigger on for the grammaton clerics in equilibrium, or a buisness suit, all bright blood-red. the shirt, the pants, the socks, the jacket, all of it, and dress up as some ****ed up satan lookin dude one day. i'd also probably invest half of it into something. not actual 'investments' but you know. put money towards something that would make me more money, like starting a million dollar national company for *something* or make a movie, funded by myself. i'm not to worried about the long term stuffs, i figure, the worlds going to hell in a handbasket, and we'll probably be underwater in the next 20 or 30 years, or nuculear holocost.
...
**** it, i'm buying a submarine and some hydroponics equipment and lots of pant stuffs. you know, tomatoes, corn, lazder guns, and of course the 500 gigawatt magnetic reazonance rhubarb. this way when global warming due to a lack of pirates floods the world because of melted ice-caps, i could be an underwater submarine pirate smuggleing tomatoes and candie to starving eathiopian kids who floated over to some mountains... well... the ones that didnt get eaten by anorexic sharks.

I've thought about it, and I think I would spend my lottery money on funding a startup aerospace company. Much like several .com moguls have done. Space is a passion for me, so yeah, that's where I'd pour most of my money.

I'd make sure my parents lived a healthy and comfortable rest of their lives, help my sisters with whatever they needed, and make sure I got through University without debt.

Re: What would you do if you won the lottery?
As for scholarships... well, keep trying. I've applied for quite a few, but then they're all for smart high school seniors.
Anyway, any winnings from the lottery (or game show, or really any official get-rich-quick deal) are HEAVILY taxed. As in, you'll probably keep around 60-75% of your winnings. plus, a lot of lotteries award the winnings on a $300,000 (minus taxes) per year for 30 year kind of plan (using $9 million as an example). If you choose to get it all as a lump sum, then you forfeit (usually) half of the total winnings. So a lump-sum taking of a $9,000,000 lottery can shrink to $3,000,000 before you even get it. And I'm pretty sure that studies show that there is either little, no, or even negative correlation between winning the lottery and general happiness.
Now that the real life thing is over, I'd go with the 30-year plan and invest everything that I don't have an immediate need for. Then I'd get my degree in college and go change the world or something. Then I'd retire early and live really, REALLY comfortably and give my kids (if applicable) the investments, along with a nice big talk about financial security.
