I would also like to direct people to Cortana.
If the main character is indeed the chief, then they either killed her, or she is still in the chief's head somewhere.
I think, the forerunners, with their brilliant minds, created a place where they would be safe from the blast of the Halo's. A place where they could continue thinking of ways to stop the flood. Cause, killing everything isn't exactly the best way to save it all.

But the MC isn't going to be in them 0: They said it isn't going to be the storyline started off in Combat Evolved. So when there is another, don't expect to see him, there might be an easter egg but he won't be in them. I'm glad really, it's gone quite a long way and it seems like Bungie was recycling ideas.

Now THAT would be quite interesting, but in the end they would dump in some flood ships too. Not that I hate the flood. But I'd love to do the Keyes loop (they gotta put it in the game), and fire some MAC cannons. Sadly, after Halo: CE Cortana gave ONI the Covenants plasma technology, so humans wouldn't be using MACs.

There will be a Mongoose, just sitting there. Drive it to the end. I dont think that the cutscene changes, but it might. Still, Mongeese are better than Warthogs.

Mongooses are more like escape vehicles and scouts.
