Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
Ar har I think when you do it on purpose like that it's not strictly speaking stealing.

Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
Saw it today. I thought it was awesome except for the bit at the end where limbo was a level in itself and all. Like, if I just let them break that then it all works, but it involves a lot of.. letting them break their own rules or whatever. It was freaking amazing though, I'd like to see it again in a few weeks. And yeah, I think a lot of why it was fun was how well it was put together. That music was radtacular or whatever bastardised slang the kids are using these days.

Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
The only thing I didn't particularly like about this film when I saw it yesterday is that the whole 'dream within a dream within a dream within a dream' bit in Limbo meant that you had, what, 20^4 times thought speed? And that allowed two people to make a massive city, world, whatever? That's saying that the brainpower of 320,000 minds could do that, which kind of broke immersion because of how ludicrous that was.
Other than that, pretty damn good movie, best all year.

Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
Your statement is somewhat ambiguous; are you saying that the notion of 320,000 people imagining a complex, well realized world is an immersion break?
Because if that's what you're saying, I have two words: video games.
Teams significantly smaller than 320,000 frequently make massive worlds.

Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
Also, your basic assumptions are flawed. It's a time scale issue, not a brain power issue.

Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
Well, Gear and Crow, from what I recollect, didn't they say that in 50 years they basically made a living, breathing world? And that it was real enough to trick Mal into believing it was real? So that means that it was basically a massive, perfectly realistic world, and that it took inception to trick her into thinking it wasn't real, which it wasn't, but she thought it was. ERGO, they made a perfect world that was PEREFCTLY real within 50 years, just the equivalent of 320,000 people...

Re: Inception [SPOILERS]
Gear? wtf. Also: people manage to get addicted to WoW, and that isn't even close to living-breathing. Maybe Mal has a really addictive personality. Also, there's the whole inception shindig that happened. Anyway, I figured that could really have all been covered by "suspension of disbelief", which it accomplished pretty well for me.
