Re: Dwarf Fortress
Did you make a bin stockpile? I think bins in stockpiles don't count as usable bins for some reason.
Or maybe you just don't have enough haulers and they haven't got around to putting the crafts in yet.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
Just make the bins and your dwarves will use them in stockpiles. Constructing bins is for dwarves' personal storage.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
i already did that, and none of the bins are filled with carfts. I tried to place them on a) stockpiles seperatly, b) on stockpiles together with the crafts, c) tried to move them somewhere else. Nothing worked.
I could send you a save with that, but P3lb0x already tried and didnt succed.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
Just let the bins sit in the workshop. The dwarves will do the stuff themselves.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
And you have furniture and finished goods stockpiles with empty space?

Re: Dwarf Fortress
Bump for great justice. The Great Dwarven Staircase of Babel: Sixty-nine stories high counting the base. I could make it a total of 83 stories if I channeled around the base and made it stand on the lowest Z-level. Image made with 3Dwarf Visualizer, available on this Bay12 forum thread: http://www.bay12games.com/cgi-local/ult ... 2&t=001450On more game-related news, next version includes many bugfixes and introduces roads. No longer will the generated civilizations be a set of random cities/halls in the middle of nowhere. I myself can't wait for the Adventurer Skills arc, which will allow for our adventurers to grab up a pick and dig to China!* *Not literally, of course, considering the fact that the world is flat in DF. And the fact that China doesn't exist. What you could do, however, is mine out a tunnel through the mountain areas you previously couldn't get past to reach potentially unexplored terrain!

Holy ♥♥♥♥!, dude, large stairwell.
You should start constructing a tower 'Tower of the Great Babel', and then it becomes the super tower and you start adding traps, storage rooms, barracks, trade stations, farms, advanced water systems, and it becomes a super power in the gen world.

No, it would be the "Tower of Babel" as that was my intention originally. See, I originally planned to make a tower as large as the base, but it took forever, so I've gone smaller now, slowly working my way bigger because it's too small now. I'll Visualize it again soon to show my progress.
