Hey peeps. Thanks for the comments. Honestly, though, they're far from complete and quite possibly never will be. I'm a teacher, so that's the reason why I don't get enough time these days to sit around and do what I really would love to do.

And how to do it? Well, just go for it. In terms of drawing machine and robots and whatnot, I tend to look around at earthworks and construction machines, i.e. excavators, front-end loaders. They're the best forms of inspiration and great for practicing perspective.

ARGH! To have more time and the monetary funds to draw all day (and, of course, play Cortex Command!)!

You're the second teacher to join DRL.

Just pointing out a fun fact.

If you're going to be a spriter, your sprites need to be in the CC's Palette colors.

Those drawings remind me of ETQW.
And the phrase "Jesus in a can".
What do you teach?

English, man. The last bastion of imperialism outside of coca cola and macdonalds, heh heh.

Damn, I wish I had a computer that would run ETQW. Running a very limp rig, but one that runs CC, so there's no reason to complain.

So, does Japan still look like something special, with their pink cherry trees in beautiful gardens and impressive paper/wood/rock architecture with silly roofs?

No, it looks like just another modern developed country, albeit with silly rooves and rather zany-but-mundane TV. :P
