Honestly if you're going to call it a ripoff the only thing it's ripping off is Asteroids.

Re: Solarace: Proycon Compact (Alenth Approved)
this looks great, I'm about to play it.
Also, I'd love to get involved, I'm guessing most of those sprites are still alpha, and I wreckon I could do some if you'd like, although I'm sure you've got it well and truly covered.
Edit: It's like a 2d Elite. I love it.

Before one of you idiots flame me, I do in fact like the game. God I know right? Mario is SUCH a ♥♥♥♥ ripoff of gears of war. They really should sue.

In response to your pm, galaxy (pms won't let me reply at the moment...) I'm asplode on your forums: I created the Shanghai. and I've changed my mind about the sprites, they're fine. the Pheonix is my favourite.
Time to check out this new build!

What does the 'X's mean? Is it about it being exterminated?

Foa wrote: What does the 'X's mean? Is it about it being exterminated? They don't have a system file. So while they have a position and faction on the universe map, you can't goto them. This build is highly WIP. I didn't do alot of checking when I uploaded it, so you'll find more errors than usual with ship descriptions and etc.

So wish I had a working computer. Does this play out at all like battleships forever? I really want to try this out, looks sweet for homebrew.

Re: Solarace: Proycon Compact (Alenth Approved)
Not a whole lot like BF, actually. In BF you give fleets general directions and then the simple AI takes over battling. In Procyon you directly control a single ship which you can change and (soon) upgrade to your needs. Also in BF, the ships are not single solid bodies but a collection of rigidly connected parts. In Procyon, the ships are single rigid bodies.

Re: Solarace: Proycon Compact (Alenth Approved)
Sounds cool, what I didn't like about BF was its complexity. There was an infinite amount to create, but that was the only hands-on thing about it.
It sounds like Solarace is geared toward a more hands-on non real-time strategy type thing. Sounds awesome.

This game is also BCN approved, for what little (*Coughyoumeannothingcough*) that is worth.

Wait, you lost me with those multiple exclamation marks. Or did someone actually care that I left?

Re: Solarace: Proycon Compact (Alenth Approved)
I do. And it actually adds to the fun of this place, when they come back.
Besides, you missed the good stuff, before Thor apeshitted and forum-wide nuked our forums. AAL is undergoing it's third formation, also the DarkStrorm. DSTech started and it is uber, Pelian is fun, blah blah blah...
And I was oblivious about my post count, until now! People started to play PMOG, and mine fielded the forums, with crap and things. And raped the DevLog Post Count Record.
