The Mind;

Look for any graphics card Nvidia 8400 or higher.

Quote:
NVIDIA GeForce series
FX 5900, FX 5950
6200, 6500, 6600, 6800
7200, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950
8400, 8500, 8600, 8800

Any of those card series will run spore perfectly well, so look around at prices for those then buy what's best for you.

Please, for the love of god, ignore Ophanim when he says to take it to a computer shop, most charge you for simply bringing your computer in and looking at it. Just buy the card that's cheapest and best for you and put it in yourself.

Make sure your power supply can support it though.

Also his ♥♥♥♥ motherboard. And comp shops don't just "charge you to take a look at it". They're there for a reason, Kelas.

Brand doesn't really matter. They all make nvidia's cards the same pretty much.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Of course brand matters you git. A graphics card is incredibly complex, and the only thing of nVidia's they use is the GPU. Asus is fine, The Mind.

So basically, Nvidia makes the important part?

Yeah, thought so.

So long as it says it's a Nvidia, don't waste your money on Asus, they are a high-priced ePenis enlarging brand that gets nothing done that any other brand can't do.

Kelas. A graphics card is an incredibly complex piece of hardware, and is the most complex part in your computer. The GPU is not the only important ♥♥♥♥ part. Don't be a nitwit, stop giving him bad information, etc etc. Also Asus is fine but I'd trust someone like EVGA or XFX more. If you want the ultimate in cards, go BFG.

I love ATI and AMD, but their drivers are a foot to install. I suggest staying with nVidia, and Gigabyte isn't very good. BFG, Leadtek, XFX, and EVGA are where my money's at.

K, but one last question(probably not), would this work on spore, which needs pixel shader 2.0?

I'm not really familiar with ATI's stuff, I've only had a few of them in the shop, so you'll have to trust someone else on that one.

You also have to take pipelines, processor speed (really important, they should list this instead of ram) and something else i can't remember right now.
