Re: Dwarf Fortress
Uh... maybe we just don't know how to put them away? And so what if we can lick their head? We can lick our SWORD if we press E and select it from the list... That's a little more stupid than licking a head...

Let's have an argument about this.

I'd really like to see Adventure mode on the DS. It probably could only run a Pocket world or even smaller, but it'd be worth it...

Re: Dwarf Fortress
Revival! YAY! Well yah, dwarfort has been in our talks in the chat again lately, so time to revive the talking. Let's talk about Z-axis fortesses. This is my newest project. A tower. built entirely out of wood, in a map with no mountain. Also, I am using the dwarf fortress graphical edition so it might seem a bit strange to look at... I made this so that the ground floor is in the middle, upper floors above it and cellar floors below it. The fortress is taking shape. Still, I post updates all the time.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
Atomic; thats... Wow. You really put some work in it. I just like to make these magma flood traps. Too bad that DF doesn't have temperature yet (or does it?), or I'd make some steam traps. For now, I'll have a break of DF. I got an goblin siege, and the chasm creatures attacked. Then the ♥♥♥♥ DRAGON attacked. Now, all of those thing at the same time, I abandoned my fort. Guess I'll start playing the new version...

Re: Dwarf Fortress
I am pretty sure that DF has temperature, because I saw a small notice about it in the DFwiki under magma Right here

Re: Dwarf Fortress
DF has had temperature since single Z-level days. However it only really governs what fire/lava effect (With temperature off, lava is just slower moving water) and what animals can live there (If elves try and bring caged tropical creatures to a glacier, the animals arrive in your trade depot as corpses, lol).

Re: Dwarf Fortress
I updated my fortress post. Check it out ppl.
Also, yes. Steam traps are possible. Make two floodgates that let magma and water flow into each other, with grate floor on the upper floor. It should produce hot steam that rises through the grating.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
Ehh, before z-levels steam traps worked and there's certainly steam now but it's not a very clever trap because water cools lava into solid obsidian now, halting both flows and generating only a little steam.
Krumbs, read the wiki and PERSERVERE!

Re: Dwarf Fortress
A small heads up, if you want to show off your fortress you should check out this http://mkv25.net/dfma/ site.
