It seemed really tame.

It seemed scary because it was something you didn't expect. When you started reading, you figured it was just some ordinary anime, no spooky atmosphere or anything like that. Until you see the distorted body on the street is when you think something is up (I figured something humorous, I found out I was completely wrong), but by the time the thought of a scary pop up came to mind, it already happened. Catching people when they're unaware or when they're most vulnerable is when it has the most effect.

Your heart rate strikes upward and the adrenaline rushes, and that's what usually gets people.

You also don't expect it to basically jack your browser.
