Re: The Lounge
If it was the other way around then you couldn't have cool dates.

Re: The Lounge
31/12 is clearly cooler than 12/31 because it's bigger and size is everything

Re: The Lounge
A display standard doesn't matter much as long as everyone agrees on it.

Re: The Lounge
It does. It just doesn't make much sense, because at least the DD/MM/YYYY format has a logical order.

Re: The Lounge
You're wrong, that order makes no sense, the most commonly changed numbers are in front of the format. YYYY/MM/DD makes more sense, just as we write numbers with the ones place at the right. Extending this, we should write entire timestamps as YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS. With your idea, we would write it as DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS which reverses the order of units in the middle of the timestamp.
My point being, there's no logical argument as to why you should use this or that date format, it is merely a matter of convention and opinion.

Re: The Lounge
My logical argument is that I prefer one way and I'm cooler than you

Re: The Lounge
I think we should sandwich the month and the day between the first and last two numbers of the year
It's 20261011 today

Re: The Lounge
We shouldn't use dates anymore. Instead, we have to place "Today" in the dates. Or yesterday.

Re: The Lounge
Suddenly, I feel the urge to change the date format on the forum so it displays it in the most confusing manner possible.

I've already changed my date format to something more suitable.
