Re: The Lounge
Bots like "Google" and "bing" are when people search stuff and DRL shows up in the results.

Re: The Lounge
False. Google [Bot] and the like show up when phpBB automatically detects the search spiders from major search indexers trawling through DRLFF. It's an entirely automated response to an entirely automated action. It has nothing to do with user input in any respect.

Re: The Lounge
He's "normal" in the sense that he's not a bot. He's an odd fellow, though.

Re: The Lounge
So for months now I've been blissfully unaware of DRM and what it means. However, after seeing it on DRLFF many a time, I finally decided to look it up and find out what it meant. So I went to Wikipedia, which didn't help at all. The most I got from it was that it's some kind of policy regarding how one uses hardware. That's it, though. So does someone wanna' help me understand this legal mumbo-jumbo?

Re: The Lounge
DRM is basically software that attempts to stop piracy of a piece of software.

Re: The Lounge
DRM: Digital Rights Management. Any technology that limits what you may do with your device or software. The more extreme examples of this are always-online requirements for games, where if you're not logged in you're not able to play the game. Milder forms are like pre-b24 Cortex where you had to have a registered key to play beyond 6 minutes.
For hardware, this is things like game consoles getting updates that brick your machine if it's found to have anything but the official software on it.
EDIT: Ninja'd, though that's not the entire story.

Re: The Lounge
In other news, I begin to dislike how my linux server decides to forget it's IPv4 configuration every time I update it. That said, DuhForum is up.
