Can you run Battlefield 3? They look more or less graphically equal.

I've been waiting for a game that can truly claim that it pushes the PC's boundaries

I actually don't know. I don't play games really intensively on PC, Arma is just really attractive to me for the sandbox element.
and Arma 3 is looking a lot like an open world BF3

I can think of better sandboxes mechanically than arma, if graphics aren't your concern.

The guys at Bohemia ain't know for engine efficiency. I think they've sorted that out for Arma 3, though.

You missed the point. He was weeding out the fact that graphics aren't any reason to fall in love with arma3 because there are other games that look just as good but take different requirements.
