I suppose you could find yourself a navy base somewhere decently hot or cold. Pretty sure zombies lack survival skills. Or closed skin.

Or closed skin. it doesnt need to be navy, even. a lot of people in the states have basements, which would be effective hiding places. i know we dont in many other places, but those that are lucky enough have got the option. my old shed would've made a nice camp out back in aus, it was about 5x5m at the base and made of corrugated iron on a pretty solid wood frame, with all manner of tools inside (and petrol, and a whipper snipper/weed whacker/line trimmer/whatever you crazy people call them, and a mower). best i'd get at my old place without making the 4km trip to templestowe, but that wouldnt be hard anyway. i have some gun nut friends up that way. here, in stupid new zealand, my shed is brick and timber, but has busted windows and wooden doors, and not nearly as many tools. <_<

You say a book on a completely fictional subject is incorrect. Lol. The book is a survival guide, meant to be read before said invasion. If you're smart, rarity shouldn't be a problem.

Are those tents on the left side? I'd rather live under the deck I think. Unless it's not out at the sea.
Also you missed the tower at the one side, nice drawing otherwise.

An aircraft carrier would also have the "minor" advantage of luxuries like heated quarters and electricity.

But how about zombified soviet submarine sailors? Never before have they been a threat, now you are at sea, they are very fatal.

For the last time, this is about the "barely can shuffle" zombies. A submarine is hard enough to control for sapient beings, let alone brainless (metaphorically speaking) piles of mobile flesh and bone. Also, why Soviet?

Geti wrote: re: carrier population thing: more or less right? hastily spammed, not really sure of the shape.. more like this: Keep at least one catapult intact so you can still launch a longer-range, faster aircraft (fa-18 oorah), and keep the arresting wire assembly intact for the same reason. Convert the other main catapult area to farmland, along with the non-landing area at the back. Helicopters would be kept belowdecks unless needed (seriously, the hangar deck of aircraft carriers is so massive), but if needed would be launched from amidships.

A submarine is an animal like a whale or a shark. Anyone knows that. And the soviet ones are the dangerousest of them all. They got superactivating torpedos and enough nukes to blow up earth onboard. Just saying, zombie soviet submariners are a underrated danger. Just like zombie badgers and mittens with a hole in them.

Re: (now a zombie killing effectiveness thread)
Living in an aircraft carrier might be a good option, but if we are talking about a full-scale zombie invasion, I'd rather have some kind of permanent base to live and rebuild humanity. Y'know, sail around the globe with the carrier until you find some isolated and zombie-free island (Easter Island would be just perfect, for all that matters), drop a bunch of dudes to build a settlement, and go around the world looking for scavenge-able stuff to begin a more long-term civilization, after all, the invasion could last for a century or more, dunno.

Or you could use Madagascar. They shut down everything at the first sign of a man in Mexico sneezing, so they would probably be uninfected.

If they shut down everything, how are you going to get there? also, they shut down even with no symptoms at all.

I think you can manage something if you can get the thing to Madagascar in the first place. Also, yes, they did. THEY ALWAYS DO.
