In most ancient myths, the hero makes his own armor, sometimes it has magical qualities, mostly it doesn't.

In Iron Man, he makes his own armor, which is technologically so advanced he can fly. I don't ever remember seeing Hercules flying around in his armor.


Iron Man was the first fictional ultimate battle suit. And even if he wasn't, he was the best.
