Daman, opinion on turn queueing turns, or maybe just having units keep with their current order if a person doesn't take their turn within the time limit?
Saving and pausing perhaps...?
Saving is easy. We talked about the rest over irc.

Need to work out mining now, planetary maps also need to thought up.

Ok, planets will be a map with a circle representing the planet in the middle... the planets can be mined dry(and a cap on miners in each mine, so you make multiple mines and need more planets in all probability).
Not sure about certain things... I think techs will be done in time set to them for the ones built-in, custom techs will have time based on their stats. Techs will probably cost like 5-20 times what the actual item or unit will cost.

Unless a better idea for planets/mining is come up with?

Just getting ideas, coding might start this week, I'll just take some random sprites to stand in and try to find out how to do things, get a host and start getting alphas out to the team.

Dunno what sort of server we will have, it'll probably be going down every 45 minutes while it's up for updates...
I think we'll keep it to designers coders and spriters at first.
Those that worked on the original will probably be welcome.

Trying to plan how the game starts to allow for both single-planet skirmises(quick games) and galactic conquest(save often in case of server crash).
I figure it'll be based on the map, whoever makes it will place your starting units amirite?
I wonder if a random map generator is possible in BYOND.

I can host a decent server for testing purposes. Also, here's some concept art of the tile based map. The main map will be space, and you will walk over to a planet and enter that planet's map(bottom is an example of a planetary map). Then you'll see it's resources etc. Rite?
Then you can have your units fly through space and rape another planet's face.

How exactly is this going to work and what exactly is it? It sounds interesting -- but I have no idea what it is :[

This brought to you by my completely inferior skill at art with a mouse.
I wish there was a grid function in Paint.
Black is space, brown is ground, blue is water, there a building, a space station thing, and some wierd green stuff that was going to be a tree till I relaised I used brown for the dirt.

As long as it gets the point across.
Currently thinking on bonuses for having factories in different sorts of areas(space, asteroids, planets).
IRC is where it's at people.

I'm pretty good at pixel art, myself. I could help with some small sprites.
