It is. Actually, I'm using them right now. It's... it's... Undescribable.

   |   Re: Headphones - I need me some cansI won't lie to you, chief. These are very peculiar headphones. If you want to hear, say, 8-bit music, or single instrument solos, I wouldn't reccomend them. There'll simply be no difference to notice. However, for anything else, they're just, like, whoa. Just a few minutes ago, I was listening to a pretty simple J-pop song, with vocals, guitar and synth. Then I decided to put on the headphones. I can swear to you, there was a whole new bass track that simply wasn't there before, as well as an acoustic guitar, violins and piano. I'm starting to think that these things don't simply improve the quality of the sound output: they must actively be adding new sounds to the music through some incredibly complex AI system. Either that, or mine are an SCP object. Just my two cents. Again.

   |   Re: Headphones - I need me some cansOkay, writing as I hear them:

 1-The amount of layers in this is amazing. I can hear the whole song reverberating inside my head, and I'd never have noticed the subtle piano near the beggining;

 2-This one didn't go so well. While the phones allowed me to identify a couple of the subtler beats, they also made some of the recording artifacts and background noise more pronounced. Prolly because it's a live recording.

 3-No difference noted. Since the piece doesn't superimpose the beats too much, the phones did not help nor hinder the experience.

 4-The bass was greatly improved, but no other significant differences were noted.

 5 and onwards- okay, I can't feasably listen to all of this in one go, but the effects were similar to what I've previously described, the biggest improvement being noted on songs with deeper sounds and use of the synth on a lower frequency.

   |   Re: Headphones - I need me some cansOh, now that's much better. Funny, it seems the phones have added some echoes and reverb for this one. Neat.

 I have a pair, and I love them.

 Also Icemat (SteelSeries?) Siberians if you don't mind looking a little silly.

   |   Re: Headphones - I need me some cansI was gonna make a new thread, but figured one probably already existed, so that's why I'm bringing this back from the dead. Eh, it's only a month and a half old anyway.
 So I haven't been in the market for headphones for a while, because the only time I listen to music is when I walk home from school and while on the computer. It was too cold to walk home from school, but now I need something to occupy the 3-4 mile, 45-minute journey home. So anyone know of headphones that'll stay on my head while jogging, and that are very loud, but don't have totally-shitty sound quality? All of that, and I'd be willing to pay at most $80.
