Lol Duh, about the pilot, she was a tough cookie. And she WAS about to talk after you broke her fingers, but then 3POK had to go and cut off her toe. (For anyone reading this out of context, just smile and nod. :P )

The articles seemed to exaggerate thing quite a bit. I haven't seen anything about 'gamer girls' being special or anything.
I DO tend to play along with the joke of girls not existing on the internet though. Always fun as long as nobody takes it personally.

I'd like to think the problem of guys giving "gamer girls" extra attention only exists in slightly older gamers, back from when gaming was "nerdy".
Either that or the guys are just being jerks, but to be honest I haven't seen girls get special attention online other than people messing with them.

As far as girls on the internet, I try not to treat them any different... But in general I think people are biased towards be nicer to the gender they're attracted to.

Also it's kinda silly... If you click the link to the original article kotaku was quoting, it asks for equality, then at the end it starts whining about how "gamer girls" are better gamers than guys... Self-contradiction much?

Well that would really just be an extension of female supremacy. We will always be better at everything we care to compete with boys on. 8)

My apologies, by the by, if this seems like an extension of the whole "I'm a girl on the internets and I want attention" dealie. I didn't mean for it to seem that way. I've always been interested in population demographics and how culture changes after demographic shifts, and how people inside that culture react when they're asked to step back and ponder it.

I still wonder why it is that guys got more into gaming than girls at first.
Were there fewer female "nerds" that wanted to play? Were guys more competitive against one another?

To put it cordially, I have creamed the ♥♥♥♥ out of every single girl on PSN that I've ever played against.

The defense rests, your honor.

(In case you didn't know, Grif weasel is the judge because he is weaselly)

Which brings us to another point- the fact that people's level of competitiveness changes depending on the gender of their opponent. Regardless of whether it increases or decreases, it will (typically) change ;o

OBJECTION: Your image was way too ♥♥♥♥ big.

Back on topic, one other thing I've noticed about "girl gamers" is they have a tendency to team up with each other, more so than the males. I suppose the mentality is "WE ARE A MINORITY GOTTA STICK TOGETHER", but I've honestly never seen two girls arguing etc on online gaming. You could say, "Oh, it's because girls are more mature"- are they? Or are they just older? Not a lot of kids/young teens who are girls are into video games, gaming seems to be more popular with the older generation.

Well frankly, I used to be pretty prejudiced about that kind of thing. It had never occurred to me that a girl could do a man's job, so to speak.

That lasted until third grade, when I met this lil' gal who spent all her afternoons playing GTA and liked to apply armbars on people who teased her (me included). Mind you, that forced the prejudice outta me like a literal kick in the nuts.

Since then, when it comes to gaming, a sis is, for all intents and purposes, a bro with bewbs (which of course adds quite a lot of interesting in-joke possibilities).
