Sounds generic to me.

MAG is either going to lag atrociously or play terribly.

There's no way in hell a console will get a successful 256 person FPS before the PC.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The ps3 is pretty powerful, and if they play their cards right, the latency will be pretty low. Of course, Europeans won't be able to play well on American servers and vice versa.
Only thing I am concerned about is will it be too generic? A large amount of players in a Battlefield esque game will not work, since they all run already behind the lines capturing points and not working together at all.
A Quake Wars style gentle push towards the hot spots would be much better.

Well, we'll see how it turns out.

Heavy Rain sounds good. I read an article in PS magazine and it sounded very non-linear.

Heavy Rain actually sounds pretty decent. From what I've seen, yes it is quick-time events, but it unfolds sort of like Mass Effect's conversation mechanic.

Why not wait until it (MAG) comes out? To use your own moot point against you, you can't say it will lag or be generic because no one has played it, just the opposite could be true. You know no more of the actual gameplay mechanics than anyone else, developers and testers excluded.

If any console could get 256 players online with no lag first, it'd be the PS3. It's a behemoth of processing power.
